More than 100 cars will set off this Saturday 12th August from Port Adelaide for the annual Variety Bash fundraiser for sick and disadvantaged children.
Departing from One SMG’s origin location – Commercial Road, Port Adelaide, the home of Smith Motor Company (est.1922), remembered fondly by the community as ‘Smiths of Port Adelaide’; the convoy will spend the following eight days spreading joy and raising funds driving through South Australian outback into New South Wales and back.
From Port Adelaide, the SA Variety Bash will be visiting townships of Barmera, Peterborough, Antro, Broken Hill (home of Broken Hill Motor Co & Silver City Motors), Menindee, Bunnerungee, Robinvale, Pinnaroo, Karoonda and Mannum concluding their trip in McLaren Vale on Saturday 19th August.
Smiths Bodyshops located in Port Adelaide, Clare and Port Augusta (part of One SMG) are proud to partner with Car AMPM – Carl’s Jr Stars, a treasured 1964 AP5 Valiant Station Wagon will be making the trip – with time generously donated by Bash Car Drivers Bruce Clarke and Brenton Stein; and Frank Agostino driving the official support vehicle.
